Meet Joyce

16-year Buena Park resident and 25-year Orange County community leader Joyce Ahn is a candidate for Buena Park City Council, District 1. District 1 covers the north-end of Buena Park from Artesia Boulevard up to Rosecrans Boulevard. The current seat held by Mayor Sunny Park will be an open seat for the term beginning in January 2023.

Joyce is a healthcare advisor assisting eligible seniors obtain access to a Medi-Cal covered healthcare program. Prior to her advocacy for seniors, Joyce served as a 2020 Census Field Manager, ensuring our hardest to count populations were represented for our community’s fair share of funding and resources. Joyce has decades of experience in both the private sector and community work, including as President of Sunny Hills Foundation for Education and OC Korean-US Citizens League and currently, as a City of Buena Park Commissioner on the Cultural and Fine Arts Commission.

As a Buena Park councilmember, Joyce will utilize her extensive community leadership experience to ensure that all voices in our community are heard and represented. By increasing accessibility to public services and resources for residents and small businesses and focusing on public safety, she believes that our community can live, work, and thrive in our beloved city, the “Center of the Southland.”

She has received the endorsement of the current Buena Park Mayor, Sunny Park, Buena Park Councilmembers Connor Traut and Susan Sonne and many more community leaders.
